Joan Kempson played Rovers cleaner Edna Miller in Coronation Street in June 1998 and from June 2000 to September 2001 and her equally miserable sister Iris Merry, also in September 2001. She has also appeared in City Central, Always and Everyone, Clocking Off, Early Doors, Doctors, Little Crackers and Casualty. Her theatre credits include Beyond Belief, An Acceptable Loss and Rutherford and Son.
