He played junior hockey for the St. Michael's Majors from 1945 to 1947. The team made the Memorial Cup finals in every season that Harrison played, winning the cup in 1945 and 1947. Harrison turned pro in 1947-48 with the Boston Bruins and played over three seasons with the NHL club. In 1950 he was traded to the New York Rangers and only played four games there before being sent down to the minors. Harrison then played four seasons in the minor pros and with the senior Sudbury Wolves. In the NHL he played 194 games and scored 27 goals and 24 assists.
