Salomon Martin was a Captain-grade officer under the Naval Command (NAVCOM) and commanding officer of NAVSPECWAR Group Four. He answered directly to Admiral Roland Freemont, who was the commanding officer of the Naval Special Warfare Division at the time. The Captain also had a competitive rivalry with Dr. Halsey, resenting the superior success rates of her SPARTAN-II Commandos over his own Special Warfare teams. In the final days of the great war, he lead the UNSC contingent of the Mandorla Campaign.
