Unlike newer editions of Assimil this one has connected storyline and mostly follows the story of young Englishman Paul Martin who came to France in order to see the country. Besides having more lessons than newer editions it also gives a lot better understanding of certain grammatical aspects of the language, Like any older Assimil course this one also has a fair amount of songs. Some vocabulary is quite dated so it's better not to rely solely on this book.
