Tactical Assault and Response teams, commonly known as TAR teams, are paramilitary police units under the jurisdiction of Police Departments and DLE bureaus and agencies. Their typical duties range from hostage rescue to high-risk counter-terrorism operations, although Law Enforcement Departments may utilise local TAR teams in such ways as they deem appropriate, such as riot control or individual close protection services. TAR officers are normally outfitted with GICUs and military-specification Ground Infantry Combat Kits, and accordingly utilise military-grade weaponry ranging from sub-machine guns to high-powered marksman rifles.
