The Fecund Flowers spell simply wake up the hidden fecundity of the flowers, and make them to give bird to wild swarm of poisonous bees that will protect Alros and attack any enemy. It is useful against fire-resistent enemies, but it is useless agaist no living beings and earth-based enemies.
