Harry was the name of a tarantula owned by David Collins. He found the spider one day while playing in a woodpile behind the old Collinwood estate. He decided to use Harry as a means of scaring his governess, Victoria Winters. During one of his lessons, David concealed Harry within a cigar box in his desk. He deliberately ignored Vicki in favor of studying the box, causing his teacher to show her what it was he was hiding. David opened the box, revealing Harry. Vicki jumped back with a start. David antagonized her further by insinuating that she might find Harry in her bed one evening.
