Solidified shadow energy is a substance created by Blackout through an unknown process. Any Makuta who comes into contact with it will become considerably stronger. It is unknown whether this effect works on non-Makuta as well. When Blackout used the Vahi Cube to reverse time by six months, Kakamu was turned into a Toa, but was transformed back into a Makuta with Solidified Shadow Energy.
