The Temple of Daikoku devoted to the Fortune of Wealth was one of the few buildings of Friendly Traveler Village that could withstand monsoon season. It was built in 1093 after the terrible storm that destroyed all buildings of the village but two. The temple concealed an underground cavern housing a natural freshwater spring which was trooped back and forth by the monks from the temple to the sake works of the city. The water was used to produce the most famous and expensive sake of the village, the Daiginzyoo-syu. They were gifted with five bottles of the fine sake.
