Mas Amedda was a male Chagrian who served as the Vice Chancellor of the Galactic Republic during the administrations of Chancellors Finis Valorum and Palpatine. Amedda served during the Clone Wars at which point he was privy to the fact that Palpatine was in fact the Sith Lord Darth Sidious and the mastermind of the entire war. When the Jedi Order won out against the attempted takeover by Sidious, the Jedi High Council quickly sliced into the Chancellor's files, arresting all of his former associates who may have had knowledge of his attempted destruction of the galaxy. Sitting in his office as his master died, the Vice Chancellor would have assumed the role of leadership of the Republic if not for the quick action of the Jedi.
