Kubo was expressing Aizen's entirely untouchable power as of now since he absorbed the Hogyoku I don't believe that the captains would have been defeated so easily if they had a basic understanding of Aizen's orginial power. --- On top of this all the previous captains have been exposed to Aizen's shikai putting them at a huge disadvantage as well as the captains being weakened from their previous fights.
