A critical finish is where a cutscene insues which automatically kills your opponent. What you have to do in order to activate it is you have you get their soul gauge down to a flashing red color which means that you have to destroy most or all of their armor. after you do this, press LB if you are playing the Xbox 360 version but if you are playing the PS3 version do this and then press L1. There ya go!
