Jennifer Watley was a Starfleet scientist on active duty in at least the 23rd century. Graduating in the top ten percent of her class at Starfleet Academy, Ensign Watley, just like her friend and roommate, Aliz Bathory, drew the USS Lexington (NCC-1709) as her first assignment. Watley was a life sciences officer specializing in xenobiology. In 2268, and now a Lieutenant, she was transferred to USS Enterprise, where she encountered Dr. Julian Bashir and Chief Miles O'Brien, engaging in a mild flirtation with Dr. Bashir in one of the Enterprise's turbolifts.
