When completely empty, it reloads using its stripper clip. Reloading a partially empty clip involves inserting bullets one at a time. If a bullet is already chambered, then it is lost when the bolt is pulled back; reloading when two bullets have been fired, for example, results in a bullet lost through bolting followed by inserting three bullets instead of two. This problem can be solved by using manual bolting and not bolting after a shot has been fired.
