Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) - is not recognized by the DSM as an official diagnosis. It is instead diagnosed as Depressive disorder NOS. The DSM does include information about this condition in its section on proposed conditions. PMDD is described as having the following symptoms (5 or more) present in the week prior to menstruation and have subsided for one week after menstruation for most menstruation cycles during the year.
