Lawrence "Larry Legs" Washington was a detective with the Chicago Police Department in the 1990s, and the partner of John Brooks. Washington has a large upper body but short, stubby legs, leading to his nickname. Washington was visited by Coloradan journalist Jack McEvoy in early 1996 as part of McEvoy's investigation into police suicides.
