Her name indicates that she was from Cairhien. Doniella held the position for twenty-six years until her resignation in 332 NE. She was Serenia Latar's successor and Aliane Senican's predecessor. Doniella was a quiet Amyrlin, not particularly strong, but not in the control of the Hall, either; her benign neglect did leave the Hall pretty much in control of the Tower. She is the only known Amyrlin Seat to have been a dreamer before Egwene al'Vere. She died in 363 NE. One of her most important notes read "Wait upon the Light", quoted by Egwene during the Last Battle.
