A mummy is a mummified person, mummification is when you preserve the body by drying it with salts removing organs like the lungs, stomach, liver, and kidneys, along with the brain, then the body is wrapped in cloth and given a headdress (a mask that covers the entire head.) and put into the coffin like you see in the movies.
