After finding the Sandman, he feels sorry for the Sandman that Spider-Man won't help the Sandman's daughter. Venom tells the Sandman that they both want to kill Spider-Man, and they decide to join forces. Venom kills Harry before trying to slay Spider-Man. After Eddie jumps out of the symbiote, Peter throws New Goblin's pumpkin bomb at the symbiote, Eddie commits suicide when he jumps back into it, in which the pumpkin bomb bonded inside of the symbiote.
