Emory Biko is an artist as well as a collector of African-American historical and cultural objects and memorabilia. He continues to maintain and grow his comprehensive collection, and to make it available to various groups and institutions. His own artistic creations have been in art exhibitions in Pittsburgh and around the country. In 2005, the African American Council of the Arts presented Biko with the Rob Penny Lifetime Achievement Award.
