A perfect creature would not require such crutches, and could asses every situation on it's merits. But -- not even the Yozi are perfect, and so concessions to efficiency must be made. Likewise, a perfect Hierarchy would have no need of Malfean rage or Ophelian treachery, but such things must be allowed within the greater whole, for the sake of surviving the moment.
