Sally was a houseguest staying with Kelly, whom she said had always been her best friend (after meeting at summer camp). When Kelly asked her to stay in a hotel for a few days, Sally refused. Her actions came across as rude and impatient, which she excused by pointing out that her mother had recently died. She was loyal to Kelly. When she thought she knew that the assassin had cornered Kelly, Sally took a cab directly to that location rather than tell someone else about it. She wanted Kelly to meet John, her fiancé. This turned out to be the man who hired the assassin to kill Kelly.
