Hurricane Rene, also known as Superstorm Rene, was the largest Atlantic storm on record, and the second-costliest Atlantic hurricane on record only to Katrina. Rene was compared to Hurricane Sandy because of the similar path of the two storms, but Rene had a more destructive path than Sandy did. The storm was the deadliest storm of the 2020 Atlantic Hurricane Season.
