Tharp is a baby gargoyle who first appeared in the episode "The Gargoyle Of Quarrel Castle" in Season 4, becoming friends with the Smurfs. He lives in Quarrel Castle, along with Selwyn, Tallulah as well as numerous ghosts of their ancestors, including Fenwick Quarrel. His vocabulary consists only of his own name repeated over and over, but still does not seem to have much trouble communicating with others. Selwyn and Tallhulah keep him as a pet, but he also becomes friends with Peewit during the Season 4 episode "Petrified Smurfs". Tharp was one of the invited guests of Woody and Laconia's wedding in the cartoon show special "Smurfily Ever After".
