Berentain is a stout young Asturian nobleman with pale curly hair. He is cousin to Torasin and the son of Count Reldegen's late wife's brother. In the Queen of Sorcery, he was wearing a green and yellow striped tunic and was a Mimbrate sympathizer, speaking in the manner of the Mimbrates and "fawning on them".
