For File:Icon Mana.png it may be cast during combat to give a lasting effect, whereby all units on the battlefield except Fantastic Creatures from the File:Icon Chaos.png are inflicted with a File:Icon ToHit.png penalty, making them significantly less likely to cause damage during combat. This applies to units on both sides (the caster's units are not exempt).
