In 1990, he starred in the second wave of Shalom Sesame episodes as Yoav, one of the human leads living on Rechov Sumsum. Tzafir had worked in children's television before, playing Cheetohs mascot Chester Cheetah on Day Diary. He directed the Israeli versions of Spitting Image (also voicing some of the puppet caricatures) and Whose Line Is It Anyway? In cartoon dubbing, he supplied the Hebrew voices of Michaelangelo on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Reggie on The New Archies, Mario on The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, and Gulliver on the Saban Gulliver's Travels series.
