Van Tien was the leader of the Alsakan Union after the death of Lharra. He was responsible for an attack on Metellos as well as two other attacks on Ruan and Bessimir which did not fulfill their objectives. Afterwards, he made peace with the Jedi, a ceasefire with the Republic, and an alliance with Onderon. He later killed himself as a result of an assassination attempt by Venator Furtificus and Dakar Claudius.
