Multiprocessor chips were a technology used by V'ger to construct the Ilia probe. These chips were the size of molecules. In the mid-2270s, Dr. Christine Chapel examined the Ilia probe in the USS Enterprise's sickbay and found the multiprocessor chips inside the probe. (Star Trek: The Motion Picture)
