Mahreen was a female diplomat of the Galactic Republic native to the ocean planet Dac who lived sometime during the Great Galactic War and Cold War between the Republic and the Sith Empire. Advocate Mahreen spent several years convincing a delegation from the Order of Shasa, the protective order of Force-users that guarded the planet Manaan, to meet with her. Manaan had suffered a devastating bombardment by the Empire during the Great Galactic War and the native Selkath had retreated into isolation within Manaan's seas. Over time, Mahreen—as well as mounting pressure from the Republic—convinced the Order to convert one of their few remaining surface structures into the Mercantile Plaza, a trade exchange where offworlders were permitted.
