The god Ksarul, Doomed Prince Of The Blue Room, of the fantasy world of Tekumel has certain thematic similarities to The King In Yellow. Although associated with the colour blue through his prison, and his beetle emblem, he is more usually depicted as wearing black. His smiling yet emotionless, mask-like face and the silver masks of his priests are reminiscent of the Pallid Mask.
