Conventional factories will someday be replaced by nanofactories which will be the size of desktop computers in the year 2009. Instead of human workers, nanobots will inhabit the factories and make goods affordable for the working class population in infinite amounts (thanks to the post-scarcity era that nanotechnology will help create). Prices for staple items will decrease to almost nothing thanks to nanofactories and their constant flow of manufactured goods.
