As a child actor, Cruz made his TV debut on The Cosby Show, playing Enrique Tarron in the backdoor pilot episode "Mr. Quiet" (along with David L. Smyrl). After his season on Sesame, Cruz played Skaara in Stargate (1994) and reprised the role on the TV series Stargate SG-1. Cruz played the recurring role of angel Rafael on Touched by an Angel (1997-2003) and was a regular as Martin Allende during the first season of Shark (2006-2007). He made guest appearances on ER, NYPD Blue, CSI, and Castle, while other film credits include The Brave, Why Do Fools Fall in Love, and Drag Me to Hell.
