The Factions Preview Event was a three day weekend event that gave gamers a sneak peek at the wonders of Cantha, the featured land of Guild Wars Factions, and invited them to experience some new gameplay options. Players had the opportunity to explore parts of this large new game world, to try out new gameplay mechanics, to learn a bit about the story of Factions, to see some of the diverse new creatures and monsters, play as the Ritualist and Assassin in both PvP and PvE aspects, and to experience some of the immersive new missions and quests. Players were able to create characters in Cantha, although these characters were created at a high level and launched into mid-game so players could get a taste of the action right off the bat.
