The PAS-37Q System Search Sensor (Phased Array) is an active EM search system that uses phased arrays of small sensor transceivers to create shapeable swaths across any portion of the sky. Large fields of these sensors allow for wider scanner swaths and more sensitive target detection in high threat, high noise environments. Despite their capability, these sensors can potentially give away the location of the ship employing them, limiting their use in combat situations. It is used on various Systems Commonwealth ships, such as the Glorious Heritage Class vessel Andromeda Ascendant.
