To save herself from also being murdered, Katherine was forced to take a new identity and leave Toronto. Her only true regret was the fact that, in order to protect her alias, she had to leave behind all vestiges of her old life. And that meant leaving her car. Katherine remained abroad for decades; but, in the 1990s she decided it must surely be safe to return to Canada. She and her new husband settled in Hamilton.
