The Battle of the Rainbow Star Group was a pivotal battle between Gamilus forces and Space Battleship Yamato, early in the year 2200 that was fought just outside of the Great Magellanic Cloud. The battle involved four ships on the Gamilus side, commanded by the notable General Domel, against the lone EDF ship Yamato, commanded by Captain Okita. In this brutal battle, all four Gamilus ships were destroyed, with the loss of all hands. And while Yamato survived to win the battle, the ship was severely damaged, with the crew taking dozens of casualties. The Earth ship and crew took weeks to repair their ship before they could resume, and soon complete, their journey to planet Iscandar.
