Hida Wrestlers, and offshoot of the Hida Bushi school, were trained in grab and strike with the bare hands. They were a distinct minority and not a popular career path. Those who survived to retirement generally became sensei of the Grip of Earth Dojo. The more gifted student often entered advanced sumai training at Stone Tower Dojo.
