Hill started in junior hockey with the Saskatoon Tigers (1932-33) the Saskatoon Wesleys (1933-34), and the Sudbury Cub Wolves in 1934-35. He then joined the senior Sudbury Tigers in 1935-36 and 1936-37, winning the Allan Cup in 1936-37. He finished his career with the senior Regina Capitals for three seasons (1948-51). Hill ended his NHL career with 89 goals and 198 points in 324 games, and managed to win three Stanley Cups - Boston Bruins in 1939 & 1941 and Toronto in 1945.
