USS Hyman (DD-732), an Allen M. Sumner-class destroyer, is a ship of the United States Navy named for Lieutenant Commander Willford Milton Hyman, who commanded the USS Sims during the Battle of the Coral Sea. During the battle, the Sims was lost and Hyman went down with his ship. He was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross. Hyman was laid down by Bath Iron Works, Bath, Maine on 22 November 1943, was launched 8 April 1944 and commissioned 16 June 1944.
