Farell began as a singer and often performed opera. She was a semi-regular on the early Canadian version of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood from 1964-1967, often in the same sort of role later filled by Lady Aberlin. She played Scrooge's fiancee in the 1964 CBC special Mr. Scrooge and was in several Wayne and Shuster broadcasts. She retired from show business in the 1970s
