The team opened the season on the road with a 10-2 loss to fellow expansion team the Berkshire Battalion on October 17. The Battalion franchise was originally awarded to Berlin, New Hampshire in mid-July but were relocated to North Adams, Massachusetts on September 8, 2014. The Battalion were having some issues and the league office issued a call for help from the other teams in the league as the league owned the Battallion. The Magic ownership balked at the request and in very short order the franchise was revoked due to financial problems. The team had cancelled home games on October 18th and 19th. The franchise was revoked on October 21st.
