An Imperial Special Operations Maneuver Force (SOMF) was the fundamental Special Forces-qualified combatant element contributed by an Imperial Component Special Operations Command to the Galactic Empire Special Operations Command. It often represented a cross-section of that entire Component Special Operations Command's capabilities, and was the fundamental unit that was deployed from each Component Special Operations Command to each Imperial Regional Special Operations Command. Each Regional Special Operations Command was comprised of three or more Maneuver Forces, with at least one Maneuver Force from each Component Special Operations Command.
