Samatz is one of the Netherworld Sorcerers. The Demon-Stalker encountered him in the guise of a friendly, bearded old man in robes, occupying a caravan on the side of the road to Astonbury, offering herbal tea and shelter from the weather; despite seeming to know a lot he refused to answer any of his questions. Samatz appeared in the Demon-Stalker's dream, holding a set of scales in perfect balance, asking the Demon-Stalker to remember his name, which he later used to convince another Netherworld Sorcerer that Myurr had tricked them, and to give him the Sword of Demon-Slaying.
