Nebraska congressman William Jennings Bryan ran for President three times in 1896, 1900 and 1908. In 1896 and 1900 he ran against and lost to Ohio Governor William McKinley. As a result Vice President Theodore Roosevelt assumed the presidency when President McKinley was assassinated. But what if the election of Byran's second attempt to win the presidency in 1900 had gone another way? What if Bryan had won?
