Semtir was a philosphical tradition among the Grazerite people. The semtir tradition dictated that, upon death, the adherent's body was to be destroyed before a gathering of friends, after which those who wished to would provide remembrances of the deceased. Federation President Jaresh-Inyo was of the semtir tradtion, and had his funeral rites carried out at Squyres Amphitheater in Endurance, Mars in 2380. (ST novel: Articles of the Federation)
