Fire Melon is a type of fruit found in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. They appear similar to watermelons, only they are red. If Yoshi swallows a fire melon, he is able to breathe three bursts of fire. The fire can kill almost any enemy (except fire based enemies). Fire melons can also be used to melt blocks of ice, as shown in the snow world. The name fire melon is a play on the word watermelon, as it is made of fire. It is similar to Water Melon and Ice Melon.
