MegaCorp Generators were used by MegaCorp to spawn various types of security robots, such as MegaCorp Chickenbots. A variation resembling a garbage bin was capable of spawning Protopets. MegaCorp might have stolen the idea from Gadgetron, due to the fact that identical generators could be found inside a cave near the abandoned Gadgetron factory on Barlow, or vice versa, Gadgetron had tried to steal the idea from MegaCorp.
