A sonic discharge cell was a modified energy cell that was used to augment many types of vibroweapons. This cell released sound waves upon impact and few types of armor were capable of protecting an individual against this type of attack. The Mark II & III versions in turn allowed for a considerable increase in the potential for sonic damage.
