The Jedi Bendu Schism was a schism in the Order of the Jedi Bendu, the group that helped to establish the Order of the Whills on Ashlan Four. The event was brought on by political corruption and what some Jedi Bendu perceived to be as a betrayal. The ancestors of the Ophuchi Clan, a group of religious hermits on Tatooine, were part of the Great Order, established a sanctuary on Tatooine after the schism broke the Great Order into two individual orders.
